Pros

Great mentors. Flexible schedule, paid vacation, perks, benefits, company culture, and of course paid internships!

Cons

The application process was very lengthy and competitive. I was told the firm only hires 1 or 2 interns every year (they receive more than 150 applications). Not enough opportunities for entry level employees.

Pros

I loved the learning experience, work environment, flexible schedule, free food, etc. Everyone was wonderful to work with. It's a small business so you will be given opportunities and your voice will get heard.

Cons

None, but if you're looking for established ways of doing things or clearly defined roles, this isn't the right route for you.

Pros

In the four years since graduation, I've had two different jobs and honestly I miss the office culture at GWM. In the real world, you don't choose your boss and employers expect you to have skills you don't learn in college. As a new intern at GWM, I struggled a little bit in the beginning but my supervisor never wanted me to resign myself to a “coffee-and-copies” type of intern. He took the time to graciously explain the industry and he gave me many opportunities to learn real stuff, and I even co-managed very important projects. Also, GWM gave me a lot of flexibility to work around school schedules and when I needed additional time to go to the doctor or do homework, my boss was very supportive. Not only did my internship help with real world experience, it also gave me a chance to stand out from the crowd and land a full-time job.

Cons

None that I can think off. They paid me to work there :) besides, it's an internship so it's up to you if you will make the most out of it, or not.
