Cons
Nepotism is so EXTREMELY high here - it truly ruins all potential the company has at being a well working organization. The only people the Executive team hires who they intend to keep are either their family, or friends- anyone else will either be worked like a dog, walked all over, blamed for any problem they do not wish to take responsibility for, or cut when the budget runs too low from irresponsible spending. The bosses wife works part time here, and she is a terrible, negative, and condescending micromanager. She carries a higher-than-thou attitude into every single conversation she enters. She also really just comes to work when she feels like it (she’s gone 2 weeks or more without coming into the office), and when she does come in, she accuses everyone of not doing their job, and speaks over anyone who makes the mistakes of organizing a meeting with her. She also is considered a member of the executive team, but last I checked - members of the executive team don’t work part time. I feel sorry for her children. This company posses no culture, very little diversity, and is pretty sexist too. There has never been more that 3 woman ever working here at a time. if you don’t want to hear sexist jokes, this isn’t the place for you. The company will organized fun little events for show on their social media, but then no one can attend due to projects being poorly deployed or executed. Poor execution is the theme of every company sponsored trip Guardhat sends you on. They can an will expect you to fly (sometimes internationally even) with less than 24 hours notice, and if you fly back on the week day, you will be expected early the next day of your return even if your return landed at 4 AM. They will also promise to have you home in a certain amount of time from these trips, and then due to poor management force you to stay longer with basically no notice - sometimes they’ll extend it by weeks when the trip was originally intended to be days. If you want organization there is next to none here - the executive team is the jury, judge, and executioner. There is no HR system in place at all - so if you do decide to work here be sure to keep your thoughts to yourself, sharing them does no good. Christmas break was supposed to start over a week before Christmas Day, due to poor management on the executive team’s end with clients on deadlines - the entire team was force to work until the day before Christmas. There have been multiple times a month where employees were forced to work from 8:30 AM - midnight or sometimes later ( I recall a recent occasion where they had to stay until 8 AM) and are still expected to show for work the next day. The executive team of course does not have to stay and suffer with them though. They also do not recognize MLK day, which deductive reasoning might say is due to their lack of diversity.
