In short, because of HCM’s value-centered leadership, my tenure at HCM was a period of exponential professional growth. 2. As a woman of color, what I appreciated most about working at HCM was the leadership’s commitment to equity – externally and internally. During my tenure at HCM, Kristin Hultquist and Terrell Halaska worked thoughtfully to cultivate an equity-minded organizational culture through efforts such as engaging independent experts to review and improve internal practices. Put simply, more than any other work environment I’ve ever served in, I personally observed HCM’s leadership authentically “walk the talk” to recruit and support a diverse staff of experts. 3.
