Pros

In Hamilton they are always looking for new employees and they do employ people without prior background in the Insurance Industry, if you are trying to get into the sector

Cons

The reason they are always hiring new people is because people are always leaving. The average tenure in the company as per LinkedIn is 2.1 years compared with other companies with 4 or more normal ones with 6 or almost 7 years. And that average tenure is going to continue going down as people that had been there since inception are leaving and it has been going on a downward trend lately. The place is extremely toxic, there is absolutely no recognition for any improvements you may have done to processes saving time and improving accuracy via automations, massive jobs solving problems or dealing with transitions to new systems, if you are not a manager's favourite. There is a significant amount of favouritism and promotions, opportunities to learn and progressing in your career are awarded only to favourites (or people that help managers getting rid of co-workers and other dirty work see below), leading to quite a few issues with people being promoted without the skills to do the job and without any leadership or people management skills at all (one of the main reasons people leave). That leads to shortages of people and overload of tasks for remaining employees that are not recognized later on (they say one thing, but their actions are another and good performance will get you into trouble in this company). There is also the full blown ganging up some managers and employees do to get rid of any employee they do not like or feel threatened by any reason (promotions is one of them). From undermining your work, to trying to set you up in something (do not leave unattended bags that can be easily accessed when you are not around, keep track of conversations in relation to your work in order to justify anything going wrong, etc). If you try to face that with HR and request evidence of anything they are accusing you (or even try to find out who is accusing you to defend yourself) they will hide behind solicitors that pretty much will tell you they have no evidence against you but they are going to continue making your life a misery until you leave, so sign something and leave. So my advice is do not take any job in this company if you do not want to end with serious damage to your career, mental and physical health
