Pros
Harris Health really sees and treats its patients as human beings and cares about its employees. It shows in the recognition our organization gets in care performance/satisfaction scores and the initiatives we spearhead. Pay and benefits are great and exec leadership goes above and beyond to make sure their employees are heard and appreciated. A lot of effort goes into DEI and creating an environment of acceptance no matter your personal, socioeconomic, or demographic background. I also love our CEO, Dr. Porsa is a genuine and kind leader and very intentional in getting to know each of his employees!
Cons
Workplace culture really varies across the organization. Can be laid back or micromanagey depending on your departmental leadership. Trust can be a hard issue to resolve even if the work is fulfilling. Maybe because this is a county hospital, but at least in my department our work logs are overly detailed and filling them out puts pressure “hours” even for salaried employees and eats up a lot of time we could be spending doing actual work.
