Pros

Progressive company, allows and encourages employees to scale with the growth, fast-paced, adopts technology to improve workflows, management tries to manage to the individual instead of generically. Real place, with real people. It's a family environment - employees make actual connections - people get to know each other on more than just a work level. Which is definitely a PRO, not a CON.

Cons

Not really a con. The company is growing. Fast. That causes growing pains. Not like Kirk Cameron/Alan Thicke Growing Pains. But instead I refer to the common challenges that EVERY BUSINESS EVER must overcome while going through the stages of business growth. You know the type - there are about 1,204 books on the topic. Ownership addresses these growing pains. That's how it works. You've seen the good, you've seen the bad, you've seen it all, and then you've had... The Fact of Life. The Facts of Life. I guess in the end, it does come back to Kirk Cameron and Alan Thicke. It always does.

Pros

Fun work environment, great group of coworkers.

Cons

New owners just did not get the way things needed to work, they pushed systems that did not work for the location / environment.

Pros

The distribution of life-saving products. Posh environment.

Cons

As a successful, talented business professional with 30+ years of experience working for some of the areas top companies, and some Fortune 500 companies, I found myself in a somewhat unique position whereby life afforded me the opportunity to take on the position of my choosing. I chose to interview with this company because the objective of saving lives seemed to outweigh the lack of benefits or compensation. Being a person of high integrity and solid moral compass, I encouraged the company to do a full background check on me, as I imagine all companies do during the hiring process. At the conclusion of the hiring process I was offered a position to join the HeartSmart family. I quickly found out that this family was like no other I had seen before. Without going into details, listing names involved, or accounts I witnessed first hand of cold-hearted collusion, I offer you this simple piece of advice before accepting a role with this company as I wish I had done: Do your homework. Ask for a list of current employees, management, and ownership (the list will be small). Perform a full background check through widely available public resources. Also, do yourself the favor of checking other job review websites. Then ask yourself this question "Is this the family I want to be a part of?"
