Working at HRBH for 34 years has given me so many opportunities to help children, adolescents and adults with mental health and substance use issues. I have been able to feel like I have contributed to my community as well by advocating for and finding solutions to better the lives of the individuals we serve. I have also had many opportunities for advancement over the years and now find myself on the Executive Team here. Workload can be extremely demanding with high patient volume and significant documentation requirements. Providers are often expected to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, which can contribute to burnout. At times there is a level of micromanagement in clinical workflows that can feel discouraging for experienced providers who value professional autonomy. Limited positive feedback or recognition can also impact overall morale.
