Growing pains - Marketing Highnote Employee Review

Highnote's hiring process and was impressive because of their respectfulness and efficiency. From start to finish, communication was clear and courteous, making me feel valued throughout. Timely feedback and well-organized steps that kept everything on track and left a positive impression of the company’s culture and values before making a decision on an offer. Highnote sets a high standard for a positive and professional hiring experience. I have a great outlook for my role, the product, and the company within my first 60 days. Highnote also has one of the best/most sensible hybrid working policies I have ever come across being at major tech players and startups within the Bay Area.

Beautiful office space, 15 minute walk from BART.

Cult-like work environment where the norm is to work overtime, all the time. Most code is not unit tested. Code is in a monorepo, and not in a good way -- if anyone breaks the build, the entire release is stopped for hours, it's really annoying. I see a lot of code is just copied-and-pasted around; code quality is really low. Not fun to work here, bad culture.
