Pros
The only pros of working at this firm are your colleagues and summer hours/pto benefits. All of the employees are in a terrible life sucking abyss together, so you learn to lean on each other - thus making wonderful connections. Somehow, this terrible firm with very little business acumen manages to recruit wonderful staff level employees. They are some of the best and brightest, but after they get a taste of HWA - they learn that the grass IS greener on the other side and they manage to escape. The firm offers a great summer hour program as well as decent PTO time for all of the days you will need off while you are looking for another job, or to use for mental health days because trust me, you're going to need them. Oh and if getting drunk and hanging out with the executives with your female colleagues in their swimming suits are your thing - then you will probably like this firm. They have an employee pool party at the CEO's private home, annually.
Cons
By far, the worst part of this firm is the executive level leadership. In fact, I am sure that the only positive review that is on this page was written by one of executives. Sadly, they have to make up lies about the firm and live in their own distorted reality because they are too egotistical to accept how awful it really is and how terrible they treat their employees. The only positive review about Hoefer Wysocki on Glassdoor states that they are experiencing "momentous growth" but what they failed to inform you of, is that they are also experiencing MOMENTOUS TURN-OVER due to unhappy employees. I have never worked anywhere in my entire career in which I have felt so under valued, and treated with such disrespect as here. Management is egotistical, controlling, and dishonest. They have absolutely no business acumen of any form, and work off of the crony system, here. If you are "in" with management, then you will get promoted, its not about how well you perform your job. The employees that have been with them the longest are kept so miserably busy on poorly managed projects they don't even have time to look for another job. You could work here for YEARS and never get promoted. Oh and as far as the mentoring program goes - its a complete joke. They do not listen to your professional criticism or advice nor do they care. If you go to HR about an issue it no results are taken nor is there a plan of action that is developed. They simply DO NOT CARE. PLEASE - STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIRM.
