Pros

Beautiful properties for sure. Lots to attract the eye.

Cons

Racism is embedded in the company. They promote Christian values however they would rather accept funds from. Blatantly racist people than to lose money

Pros

1. Strong Community & Culture Holbrook tends to foster a sense of community among staff and members, which can make the environment supportive and collaborative. You often build close working relationships and get to be part of events that matter to members. 2. Variety of Experience Working at a multi-faceted property (club + spa + F&B) exposes you to different areas—events, marketing, guest services, operations—which is excellent professional development. You get to wear multiple hats and learn skills across departments. 3. Professional Growth Opportunities If you’re proactive (which you are), there’s room to take initiative, lead projects, and innovate—especially in roles like marketing where ideas are valued. Ability to build strategic thinking, creative campaigns, and operational knowledge. 4. Tangible Impact Results from your work are visible: membership engagement, event success, revenue impact, reviews, etc. That’s rewarding and clear evidence of contribution. You can shape member experiences directly. 5. Client-Focused Service Environment Working in hospitality teaches strong service skills and relationship building—highly transferable to other leadership roles.

Cons

1. Demanding and Fast-Paced Hospitality environments, especially clubs, often require long hours, weekend work, and responsiveness during events or peak seasons. Work can spill beyond standard office hours. 2. High Expectations from Members There’s a service mentality where member satisfaction is critical. That can be rewarding but also stressful when expectations are very high or shifting. 3. Resource Constraints Depending on budget and staffing, you might wear many hats without a commensurate support structure—meaning you’re stretched but may not get enough support. 4. Internal Communication Challenges As with many larger clubs or hospitality organizations, cross-department communication can sometimes be slow or siloed, which requires extra effort to navigate. 5. Potential for Role Ambiguity Especially in evolving roles, responsibilities can shift quickly and might not always be clearly defined, which can be frustrating without clear leadership alignment.

Pros

Great facility, great incentives all year round.

Cons

Messy, poor management. Lack of respect for others. Not a great working environment. Staff is unhappy and management could careless.
