Pros
I do not work in NJ, just listed it to remain as anonymous as possible. Pros? Paid time off for retail employees. Not common in the car business. Direct retail managers and GMs that I have met are great. The issues comes one level above them.
Cons
Leadership decisions have become increasingly disconnected from the realities of the business. The company continues to promote and hire “retail leaders” who lack meaningful retail or dealership experience, and over time, that gap in knowledge becomes very apparent in both strategy and day-to-day operations. There also appears to be an excessive number of executive level roles that do not contribute directly to store level success, creating a top heavy structure. Meanwhile, frontline employees the ones actually generating revenue are compensated below industry averages. Morale is further impacted by a lack of cohesive culture. Communication often highlights upgrades, renovations, and investments in other non retail locations, which can feel tone deaf when compensation and support at the employee level are lagging behind.
