Pros
My career pivot into recruiting and joining the team at Horizon was definitely a leap of faith that has paid off. I have loved working here since my first day on the job. Coming from a background in the hotel and service industry, we all know that the onboarding process can often feel like being thrown into the wolves. What has stood out for me in the beginning was the exceptional onboarding and training. The leadership team was very thorough, detailed orientated and made sure you have the foundation, tools and confidence needed to thrive in recruiting - I never once felt thrown into the wolves. They essentially let you learn and grow at your own pace in the first year. If you catch on quick, great. If you need time to develop, that's okay too. The investment they put into first year recruiters is exceptional.
Furthermore, the work life balance is incredible and the company culture is so friendly and welcoming. The culture isn't highlighted enough. Monthly happy hours, team events, lunch and learn (lunch is provided!), holiday events and a team that has become a family. The work is rewarding and the pay is extremely fair and competitive. You get back what you put in and then some. The flexibility is also unbeatable - my nights, weekends, and holidays truly belong to me now, unlike in the service industry.
I’m thankful I took a chance on this career change and would wholeheartedly recommend Horizon to anyone seeking better work-life balance alongside an opportunity to develop new skills with a great team.
