Pros

Good entry-level place to learn a variety of skills for the work place

Cons

Men are compensated more than women, little room for growth and advancement, despite issues being identified to higher level management no action taken to address problems; business model relies on entry-level cheap labour

Pros

Interns have opportunities to work on BIG projects for German ministries and leading companies and can gain experience in consulting as well as in selected fields such as change management, sustainability or energy sector, working environment is informal for German standards, mostly friendly atmosphere, interns are not expected to work beyond normal hours with few exceptions

Cons

Interns get paid fairly little (400-600 Euros depending on degree qualifications). HQ are located in a small town meaning that the staff commutes from surrounding cities. As a result there may be little contact with colleagues/ other interns outside of work. Staff is 95% German despite international projects. Interns are not allowed to participate in lunch&learn sessions due to fear of information being leaked. I also worked with one senior consultant that was highly disrespectful and that no one enjoyed working with, but this was an exception.
