Pros

I found this job to be a great place to learn about the industry, marketing (huge strength there!) and what it's like to work with some really good managers. I thought the company structure and management team were really sharp and facilitated good personal growth. The culture is good and I came out with not only work acquaintances, but some folks I would consider life long friends.

Cons

The management team is pretty full with folks who have been building the business for a while. So while it's a great place to learn, build skills, and develop- to become really senior there feels difficult to achieve long term, unless someone is hired in. This shouldn't be a concern up front, but just much longer term.

Pros

- Remote first - Kind coworkers - Fun brand

Cons

My entire career has been built on digital transformation/migration projects, but IPSY showed me a new kind of chaos. A very immature project management function coupled with constant rebrands, shifting priorities, and last-minute legal changes made it feel like they were trying to rebuild the car while it's already rolling downhill. Still a spreadsheet place. Product requirements constantly got buried in Slack. (Why are we so afraid of email?) Disjointed processes and minimal communication to contractors. (It's often the norm to treat contractors like secondary citizens, but most places will at least communicate info relevant to your job). Seems like a bad idea to lay off tech team members midway through a delayed transformation project.
