Pros

Independence, ability to work from home (Which is good, you'll be doing a lot of that!). They seemed like very nice fun people when they hired me.

Cons

excessive overtime for exempt employees, lean benefits, no retirement/401K, very little PTO, low salary, expect you to be the expert on everything, even stuff you say you don't, infrastructure is a wreck, management don't understand technology, the owner especially, greed and fear led them to short the final paycheck for one employee, and not for much, which was weird and petty, IMO.

Pros

Very small work team and everyone is an ear shot away. The guys in the tech team were actually fun and enjoyable to work with.

Cons

Started off great as an entry level job in IT. Got a raise after 2 months and made me feel appreciated. Then as time went on I was expected to be an expert on everything including things I had never seen. We were expected to be able to troubleshoot anything a client brought to us even if it was software we have never seen before. Also it is a family company and if you aren't friends with them or family you won't be going anywhere. Clear favoritism present. Company bought out another company and expanded too quickly and expected new employees to know way too much and got too far deep from a web hosting company to a full MSP without building the infrastructure first. Owner fired an employee in front of everyone and berated him and had him listen to him rant for 20 minutes before kicking him out. Was expected to be essentially on call 24/7 because I was the young guy with out kids.
