Pros

Insight into a pharmaceutical production company, gain experience in GMP, brilliant colleagues

Cons

Culture of fear and cover-up. Employees feel overworked, exploited, under-appreciate and underpaid. Working conditions are poor, especially for production staff as heavy workload and late lunches/ finishes mean you can be in the cleanrooms for up to 6, even 7 hours without ready access to water, a break or the toilet. If employees protest conditions they are either met with excuses, forced contracts or deaf ears. And if you're an unlucky new starter they'll charge you the ambiguous fee of £1000 for leaving within 6 months of starting for 'training costs'. This is due to the way in which the directors and CEO choose to run their company. It's very short-sighted, they'd rather lose their experienced staff and spend time and money training up new ones than retain their existing team. It is clearly profit motivated but to the detriment of the business's longevity. I hope they realise it may not be as easy to hired young, educated and hardworking staff who are willing to start on low pay (floating above minimum wage) after Brexit. They have plans for renovation and expansion, I just hope they have the staff to fill it, it's not looking promising.

ITH Pharma is proud of the fact that it offers opportunities for people to be employed in a company that value investment in comprehensive training and development; you specifically highlight the insight into a pharmaceutical production company and experience you gained in GMP both of which are key elements of our strong training programmes. We are sorry to learn that you had concerns regarding your working conditions whilst working for ITH Pharma. Had you given the company an opportunity to investigate your comments during your employment of greater than one year or during an exit interview, we are confident that this would have been addressed. Engaging with our employees is a key focus for the management team in understanding the employee perspective. Ample opportunity is given for discussion through regular forums and access for employees to line or more senior managers.

Pros

I have had a very good experience so far at ITH Pharma, as I am approaching my 3-year anniversary I like to reflect on my achievements. Opportunities are always provided to grow and expand within your department at ITH, I myself have benefitted through this and expanded my abilities and expertise far wider than I would have expected since starting here. Also, for me the most important thing is people, I thoroughly enjoy working with my team here - everyone greets you with a happy smile in the morning which always starts my day off on a positive note. As I speak with many employees about their experience during the first few months at ITH, I know the work in production is very rewarding, but it is also hard work as we must ensure top quality - if you are planning to work in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, you must be prepared for this - but I would say definitely worth it for all the positive impact you can make working in this industry.

Cons

No negatives in my experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you found your colleagues supportive and that you recognised opportunities for development during your time with us. We also acknowledge your comments about the demanding nature of the role and the need for overtime at times. As a healthcare provider, our work involves supporting vulnerable patients who depend on us for essential, often life-saving treatments. In some cases, we provide same-day treatments, particularly for patients requiring parenteral nutrition, who rely entirely on the services we provide. This is why there are occasions where we need colleagues to step in and ensure care is delivered as promised. Thank you again for your contribution during your time with us and for sharing your feedback. We wish you all the very best in your future role and career.
