Pros
Working in a well structured clinic with modern equipment and pre-booked patient lists, along with clear comprehensive and established policies was a big incentive to me when compared to my previous employer. Management do not micromanage and work on trust and expectation of professionalism. I value the work life balance with shift flexibility and good benefits which often get overlooked (nearly unlimited overtime, shift swaps, lunch allowance, travel allowance, weekend pay allowance, private healthcare and annual pay rises).
Cons
Career progression is limited to moving into management which is already streamlined and opportunity is scarce even if you wanted to take this route. Base salary is just about average (but with overtime and allowances its more than compared to NHS similar role).
