Pros

Some good people if you stay away from the buddies of the COO

Cons

Managing partner/COO will make a gun using his hand and simulate firing the gun in your face in anger. The intentions is to create a hostile work environemnt. The COO is not shy about forcing overtime and telling employees to skip lunch. Inroll+ will not pay the required overtime since the employees are all eligible for overtime and a lunch break. Individuals in client services were having an affair while both were married. This has cast a negative work environment. One left for a competitor. The other remains to brags the former is taking away clients. By some estimates 1/3 of the business has left.

Pros

None. Initially was a good place to work but egos and pontificating overtook quality and value (of employees and clients alike).

Cons

Extreme favoritism (good ole boys type), too many managers, not enough workers conditions. Very top of US Retirement Partners frequently referred to developers as "overpaid report writers". This put down permeates their business culture which likes to brag that they are first and foremost a benefits company and not a software company. Unfortunately this attitude along with management's lack of technical knowledge allowed a bully atmosphere to grow and permeate the software development group. Not understanding the scope and depth of development needed to create a new and improved benefits system (and not wanting to hear any objections), mgmt overstated and oversold the launch of a new and VERY buggy half baked benefits system. After forcing this new version on clients (and the accompanying disparagement of the older Working system) almost two thirds decided to go elsewhere. Needless to say, the turnover in the software development group (and client services) was quite high.
