Pros

They support disabled youth in getting an education with universities across Edmonton. They support the search for accessible jobs in Edmonton.

Cons

All of their training around disability is engaging with stuff written by their white men founders. In the world of disability theory there is an incredible amount of work and thought by Disabled WOMEN OF COLOUR that this company simply ignores. They really promote "traditional values" when it comes to what a life path should be - university marriage and then children. This disallows conversation around other experiences that don't follow that path. Very underpaid and overworked. Lack of acknowledgement around intersectionality- other experiences otuside of what they deem as the 'norm'. Everyone I worked with felt overworked, underpaid and undervalued. They didn't actually provide any specific training for the hands on emotionally serving role I was hired for expecting me to 'learn on the job'

Pros

Nice mission in theory and promoting inclusion is important and needed.

Cons

Everything else. Management is horrible. They are unkind, cliquey, out of touch, and unprofessional. If I was on the leadership team there, I would be embarrassed by how many reviews point out issues that have yet to be resolved. As others have already said, it is a bad place to work. The turnover is high for a reason and the people who stay long term are part of the problem. If you want a job where you are valued, respected, and supported Inclusion Alberta is not the place for you. If you want to get paid poorly to work long hours and feel constantly stressed, it is the place for you.

Pros

Good mission, enjoyed supporting students and families as well as collaborating with instructors.

Cons

Management somehow managed to micromanage the most minor issues while still being nearly impossible to reach for meaningful support or clear answers. Messages frequently went unanswered, including questions that directly impacted the students we were trying to support. The pay was abysmal considering the expectations of the role, and there was virtually no flexibility, at least under the manager I was assigned to.
