Pros
When I first joined the company, it was an incredibly exciting time. The early years were full of friendship and personal growth, which made coming to work every day something to look forward to. The team was full of interesting characters, and there were always fun, wild stories being shared. Plus, the job itself was straightforward and easy to excel at, making the initial experience very enjoyable! Doug the founder of the company was so cool still reminds me Elon Musk.
Cons
The company unfortunately ended up turning into a sludgy swamp of HR politics and a "favors for favors" culture. Management became a clique of "mean girls," using HR to justify some of the most ridiculous policies and actions I've ever seen in a workplace. It started to feel more like a daycare for overly sensitive adults rather than a professional environment. The only reason I made it through part of this dark age was because there are truly some good folks who work there, most of whom are not in upper management. If you want to see how to attempt and fail at adopting the hottest trends in startup culture in the most half-assed way, come here. I eventually found a more happy and enjoyable company to work for and respectfully turned in my notice. They surely noticed that.
