Pros

None, so I’ll just list the obvious reasons that everyone wants to quit: terrible pay, out of touch leadership, no work-life balance, lack of support, and the company has an embarrassing reputation to be associated with in the industry when looking for new jobs. They froze promotions and salary raises indefinitely while instead handing out “growth opportunities” - basically giving everyone more work with no monetary gain or title increase, and the best part is, you can’t say no.

Cons

Ever since the merger with Publicis (and even worse with Captiv8) this company has lost all aspects that once drew me to work there. Wages are low. Campaigns are uninspired. Internal teams are stressed, making it difficult to work collaboratively. The organization is top-heavy, with too many “thought leaders” making inefficient choices and not enough people to actually get the work done. The turnover is unbelievable. Everything at Influential is “urgent” besides your growth within the company. They favor employees that play into corporate politics with the sales team/C-suite, making all of the decision makers the types of people in school that would take credit for your work in a group project but immediately blame you for any mistakes. Now let’s get into upper leadership - I’ve heard they used to have some semblance of a clue about what went on within the company, but now they’re too busy spending an obscene amount of money to party in Cannes rather than doing some introspection into why most employees are miserable. Theres an internal joke that the company’s tagline is “OVERPROMISE, UNDERDELIVER.” Which (as you can expect) means that the clients are never happy. If the projects were at least innovative or cool, maybe it could be worth it. Every project here makes you feel like you are losing brain cells rather than learning anything new. Oh and the tech doesn’t work.

Pros

- Remote work environment *Though I will caveat this by saying things will probably change at some point following the disaster that is the Publicis acquisition and the demands of certain accounts. If you're located in a city with Publicis office space, you will most likely be required to go in office at some point. - Likeminded, competent coworkers (for the most part) *Outside of upper management, everyone doing the actual work to keep the company afloat was hardworking, kind, and deserved better treatment.

Cons

I could write a dissertation on how awful of a place this is to work. Before I started this job, I had read multiple reviews citing horrid upper management and borderline abusive working conditions but unfortunately was not in a position to turn down a job. If you are someone thinking about taking a job at this company and value your mental/physical health in any capacity, I urge you to run as far away as possible and find work literally anywhere else. My experience with upper management was horrific and demoralizing. I had a manager who was so cruel and awful to me and the rest of my team that multiple people (including myself) suffered from panic attacks weekly and were forced to take short term leave as a result. HR was made aware on several occasions about this individual's approach to leadership (bullying, straight up calling people dumb, etc.) but did nothing. I assume the lack of action taken to remove this person is/was due to an apathy toward the obvious high turnover environment as well as general laziness/complacency. The effects this company had on me will stay with me for a very long time. This is a place that outwardly presents as employee-first while internally employees are battling blatant toxicity and keeping things afloat with little to no guidance from upper management.
