Pros
- Google Partnership: You will become a subject matter expert in Google Analytics, GTM, and other Google products such as Looker Studio, BigQuery, etc. depending on your role. - Can be opportunities to switch teams if you are interested in a different specialty (e.g., moving from Tag Management to Data Visualization). - Solving complex problems and working with some of the largest brands in the world. - Defined career paths (Individual Contributor vs. People Management). - There is transparency from top to bottom. Leadership keeps everyone updated on all of the details of the business. - The people are incredibly kind and supportive. The positives you read here on Glassdoor are not just for show. - These are some of the most intelligent people I have ever worked with. From day one, I was impressed by the depth of knowledge everyone has in their specialty. It’s an atmosphere that empowers you to be the best version of yourself.
Cons
- Google Partnership: Most of your time will be spent working with Google's technology. If you want exposure to different tools, this may not be the best place for you. I would encourage asking more about this during your interview, though, as this may have changed since my departure. - I was there during the peak of the GA4 migration, which made the workload more overwhelming than anticipated. - It can be challenging to manage expectations with clients that do not have a large bank of consulting hours (especially during the GA4 migration). - If you like to operate as a “generalist,” you may struggle. I prefer roles that allow me to leverage as many technical skills as possible while working across multiple technologies. This role did not allow me to do that as much as I had initially thought.
