Pros

Management values employees and tries their best to shield them from corporate. Family time is respected, and there is a pride in the IFS name in Detroit. Opportunities for professional growth and heavy emphasis on promoting from within. The best example of IFS Leadership would be when a laborer drove into work with a donut on his car two days in a row...GF asked around and heard about financial issues at home...Had a brand-new tire waiting for the laborer the next day. No questions asked, nothing expected in return. Take care of your people and they will take care of you. There is a reason other IFS locations come to Detroit to learn what right looks like.

Cons

-Difficult to compete with heavy highway scale and people chasing money. -Most employees are not from the area, long commutes contribute to burnout and turnover. -Sometimes favoritism takes place...some get second, third, or fourth chances. -You laid me off. (But generous severance and professional references)
