Pros

- Surrounded by intelligent, passionate team members who care about their work and always stay positive and motivated - You are given the opportunity to be independent but assistance is always available when you need it - Managers/CEO are always looking for feedback on how to improve and have accepted that there have been issues in the past and are actively trying to fix these issues - Self-development is encouraged within the company by offering educational classes, physical training sessions, access to free books and 1-2-1 feedback sessions - Personal issues are dealt with effectively and empathetically (this used to be an issue in the past but has been improved upon greatly) - Personal praise is always given when due and has become a vital part of the company - The office environment is calm and there is always a friendly face to cheer you up if life stresses get in the way - It is easy to go to work in the morning when you fully believe in the company and know that it will succeed, this was the case when working for Inkitt/GALATEA

Cons

Inkitt is a startup, and with a startup comes its challenges. I wouldn't recommend a job at Inkitt to someone who is looking to stay under the radar and put in minimum effort. A job at Inkitt is for someone who is committed and is ready to put in 100% effort to help this company grow even further than it already has. Be prepared to sometimes have a to-do list longer than you would hope, or to have to sometimes be at work an hour longer than expected to fix a mistake. This simply comes with life in a startup. The cons shared in previous posts were valid and some of the issues mentioned were certainly true at that time. However, when the issues were brought to light, all attention went on making sure that all current team members' opinions were heard and understood. Hearing everyone's thoughts and complaints, the CEO, Ali Albazaz, has worked tirelessly to make sure that not only the company improves, but that he also makes drastic personal improvements. The positive changes that have occurred in the past few years/months (and that are ongoing) are immense. I personally went from dreading going into work, to never wanting to leave such a supportive and ever-improving company. One that takes the time to accept its issues and constantly work on them. Therefore, although I have had issues with Inkitt in the past, I don't believe that it would be fair to class these as "cons" when those issues no longer exist, due to hard work and a CEO who is intent on bettering himself.

Pros

- Being able to lead projects independently from A to Z and be trusted for it - Engaging daily with a creative and passionate team - Being part of exciting new projects in a fast-paced, fast-evolving industry - Steep learning curve, you'll be pushed out of your comfort zone and grow fast

Cons

Inkitt is a fast-paced start-up with no set playbook. People who love structure and need to be managed and told what to do may find it challenging.

Pros

Inkitt is one of the few places that actually sits between tech and media in a way that works. A manuscript comes in, real reader behavior tells you whether the story has legs, and the team turns that signal into a career for the author. I think about reader retention and narrative pacing in the same conversation now, which I didn't before.

Cons

The flip side is that the playbook doesn't fully exist yet. Some weeks you're inventing the process while running it. Energizing if you like ambiguity, exhausting if you don't. Worth being honest with yourself about which camp you're in before signing on.
