We appreciate the feedback.
We have observed that quite often people mistake transparency for micro-management.
Common feedback we very often get is that new joiners are surprised by the level transparency at Inkitt. When people are not used to this, they feel it is micro-management as our culture is one of ensuring all information is public.
We fiercely want to avoid information living in silos, and when people are encouraged to break those silos sometimes the message they feel they are receiving is that they are not being trusted to be the sole stewards of that information. This is a failure of communication on our part for sure, and we take responsibility for that. As in fact the message is that we can do more together (where 2+2 = 5), as a team -- and therefore we should ensure information flows companywide.
However we highly value your feedback, as its a reminder for us to reflect on how best to equip new joiners with navigating this transition.
