Pros
Ever since I relocated from the Midwest in 2007 to join Innova, I have been witness to a firm that continues to grow while focusing on making every decision on a win-win basis. It does this with employees, clients, vendors, everybody. When families started to suffer because of the cost of health care, Innova stepped up and covered nearly all of the premiums for the employee and family. When the recession hit hard in 2010, Innova stepped up and found ways to keep the entire staff employed and our clients cared for. When the Owners wanted to start transitioning, they chose selling the company to an ESOP over selling it to a few people or to another firm. Innova's focus on win-win requires everyone to be open minded, curious people. Our clients in turn get to work with a team of outside the box thinkers who focus on getting the best solution instead of focusing on being the one to give the solution regardless of what others think. This approach gives all of our employees opportunities to participate on large, mega-projects in Las Vegas and around the world! Before I came to Innova, I was in the process of trying to build a successful firm in the Midwest. When I came here, I ended up working with people that focused on building people and relationships, and the result is a highly successful structural engineering firm that is referred on challenging, creative, and crazy projects ....everywhere! It was and remains the best professional decision I ever made.
Cons
Downsides? Well, Innova always has great coffee, food, and snacks, so you need to have discipline, or you'll wonder why your clothes are shrinking. Besides that, because Innova is referred on these large, fast track projects, our schedules can get tough. Work can pour in, and we focus on how to get it done instead of just picking and choosing as a default. Our clients rely on our availability and responsiveness, and that can be an adjustment for many people. Lastly, when you walk through that door, it is "Showtime". You have to bring your best every day or you'll fall behind. It is not an environment for everybody, and that is ok.
