Pros

A small company to become an ABA therapist can be ideal for new therapists growing their career…

Cons

…but this one has shotty HR practices that leaves disenfranchise groups of people left out to dry.

Pros

-Paid training to get certified as an RBT and they don't hold the certification hostage if you decide to leave... but if you leave to work as an RBT elsewhere, you will later realize how good you had it here. -Unlike other ABA practices, IDS does not charge you money to get your observation hours towards your own BCBA license... it is time paid to you. -Owner and staff are totally focused on growth for the clients. -Owner mentors staff that are serious about wanting to build careers in any practice that helps kids with neurodivergent conditions. -DoorDash Dashpass is a benefit the mostly younger staff appreciate and can actually use. -Schedule changes due to college/university class schedule are expected and accommodated. -Practices utilized are not the scary strict and regimented ones you hear horror stories about. It is closer to play therapy than that. -Staff is awesome! I miss them dearly, but had to move on due to personal reasons. Very supportive of each other and make it a place that really feels like you are working with your best friends! -Only one clinic in the whole practice and almost no home-sessions. This means no travel to have to track. Some clinics don't even pay you for that time or miles anyways! -Transparent pay structure. No favoritism for kissing up to the boss in that regard. You will always make more per hour than the new person.

Cons

-Only one clinic, so if you don't live close by, there won't be any opportunities to transfer to a clinic that is closer to home. -Not a national company so transferring to another city or state is not an option. -Not a super wealthy company or family, so when insurance providers don't pay for the sessions we provided, the company has to tighten up the budget and fight for that money. -Not enough RBTs on staff to make schedule more flexible when something comes up. Instead, clients get called that their session has to be canceled which makes it harder for us to justify taking personal days. -Building is large but old and has infrastructure problems that the landlord ignores.
