Pros
Products and services are well respected in the commercial insurance industry. Opportunites to take on different roles throughout my career. My ability to be self starter has always been recognized. Collaborative work enviironment. I get to work with very intelligent, committed co-employees. I would feel detatched when working at larger companies, but not at Instec. Shares of company through ESOP participation is a neat benefit. While down the road for me, starting to see a lot of value in my account with sizeable stock price increases the past three years.
Cons
Company has a single line of business, which limits roles and assignments somewhat. This is not a big company (on the other hand, I have already mentioned my days with big companies are over). Commercial insurance, the market served by Instec, moves slowly in terms of adopting technology. The cloud solution Instec offered was timely for a world heading to the cloud, but has taken awhile for Instec's commercial insurance customers s to adopt it.
