Pros

• Exposure to a diverse team that's spread out across the world. • A near-flat hierarchy that encourages people to connect with experienced peers. • Dynamic work that challenges the brain, and fun to be a part of -- there's so much to learn! • Fully remote (this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but with the processes and support system in place, the system here works wonderfully). • A transparent, supportive organization. • I joined at the height of the covid-19 pandemic, so we couldn't meet in person, but I know that there used to be regular team trips, and surely will have one as soon as it is safe to travel again.

Cons

If you're looking for a comfortable place to hide, this isn't the place to be. My colleagues are super smart, efficient and high-performing. I have often felt like I wasn't contributing as well as my colleagues, and that felt stressful. Fortunately, my colleagues are also supportive and motivate me (and I try to reciprocate that as much as possible)

Pros

The Interaction Design Foundation has a fantastic culture that is among the best I've seen at the companies I’ve worked for. Everyone really cares about their colleagues and especially the students who have entrusted their education to us. I feel privileged to educate the designers of tomorrow. I work with students from all over the world, and that helps me reinforce my belief that design is truly a cross-cultural and universal matter.

Cons

Language can present a challenge when working with students who aren’t proficient in English.

Pros

None. This is not a good place to work.

Cons

CEO thinks he’s a software engineer, but he jack squat about actual engineering. This is a terrible place to work and management has completely misaligned priorities.
