Pros

The best thing you get from interactive motion is a thorough understanding of what not to do. I learned to train people well enough so that they can leave, but treat them good enough so that they stay... Unfortunately Interactive Motion's owner only got half of this right and the people that learned the most about their products and the people that developed their processes have left the company. There are few left and I can only hope they find a way out.

Cons

Interactive Motion Technologies is one of those companies that had potential but it was crippled by bad upper management. My colleagues and I have come to witness some of the poorest decision making we've ever seen. From the top of the company rains down a storm of negativity, irrational decisions, and corporate bullying. One owner in particular Hermano "Igo" Krebs is responsible for the loss of countless great employees, Engineers, managers and CEO's. The general consensus is that they do not care one bit about any employee, and it even ridiculously seems as if the owners do not care about making money or even a quality product. It doesn't make much sense at all. The only sense I was able to make of it, was that "Igo" started the company for his own personal gain in the industry where he can go talk to Dr's and medical researchers about technology and get paid to talk, in years of working for him, all I saw him do was talk, and most of the time it was verifiable he was not correct. This is strange because even though he gets paid to talk, He has a knack for talking to people he employs in a way that they can't stand him within minutes. This company loses people frequently. It has gone through 4 CEO's, many managers, and staff members from sales, to customer service. The company is like a roller coaster that never peaks. It had gone up a bit, but came crashing down financially over and over again over the past few years. Former employees don't just walk away from interactive motion technologies, they run. When people leave they often hold onto extremely important information that the company may have gotten out of them with a respectful break, but most employees are too fed up when they leave and will not even speak with them once gone. Interactive Motion or (IMT) is always in peril, and everyone is on the chopping block, and as the owner is known for telling everybody "You are all replaceable" which really doesn't seem to help. Rather than make careful business decisions, when money gets tight they will let someone go to save money, but that just makes a hole in the company and puts more strain on everyone that is expected to pick up the pieces and continue without slowing down. In a small medical device company it is difficult to follow the rules of the FDA and ISO13485, but it is impossible without a good management structure that pushes you to rush without knowing the consequences. People have been jumping ship, and when you lose people due to poor treatment it shakes the whole company. Even though they lost one person at a time, they also lost a bit of each person that was left. If you want to work hard everyday, take on multiple positions, receive a lower than average salary, always be worried about your job, and have a very stressful work life... Then go work for them... But I wouldn't recommend it.

Pros

This company makes a wonderful product that helps many people recover after having a stroke. It was a great feeling to be part of a company who made a product that helped people who suffered disabilities.

Cons

I always walked on egg shells at this company, wondering if I was going to be the next person to be laid off. Eventually I was, with no notice or severance package. I worked there for a few years and never had an employee review, which I was promised. I saw many good people quit because they got aggravated at the lack of commitment to help employees advance.
