Pros

- Sales - Accelerated Sales growth across multiple product lines with plenty of room in the market share to continue pushing General Surgery and other Specialties forward in the Quota Barring roles. - Stock: Intuitive has always been a staple in the stock market and they have a great plan for employees. - Training: Technical, Clinical & Sales is very Challenging but rewarding for immediate Development and value you bring - Clinical Access: You couldn’t get any closer to Surgery without being a surgeon, you have access and communication with every pivotal decision maker in a health system and your daily office is next to a patient in the OR or in a meeting with the Hospital Leadership. - Resources - you’ll get so good a putting out fires while your cutting through the noise to hit your number. there’s a wealth of data, documents & resources to make you into a Swiss Army knife in any given situation from C suit to Surgeon. - Talent - Almost of the Engineers, Finance, Risk Analysts, clinical Development team, Project managers and anyone I work in the office and feild with are incredibly sharp, have great work ethic and no how to get things done with confidence and performance. - Executives - Gary is the personality and soul of the company, he’s been around from the beginning and has long term growth in mind with a stable future for the company. Dave is extremely bright and with the combination of others like Jamiethe CFO and Henry who runs Commercial Business there’s very sharp and steering the ship at the top level. Speed of Technology- The rate at which teams imagine, plan and develop new technology is fast and versatile you feel the energy in the room every-time your on site

Cons

- Stunted Development: Intuitive likes 2 year plans for Job Rotation or Promotion. You will happier to ignore the 2 year speech and set expectations with yourself it’ll be 3 or more years. The company is conservative on headcount and there’s strong political forces to move Internally. You must get permission before being allowed to apply internally and that permission is not granted and will work against your effort to try to leave to another team. - Attrition: It is a revolving door, you are overworked and underpaid for the market. People will make jokes about you being ancient if you’ve been at the company longer than 4 years. For the reason above people leave to competition or other opportunities to be paid more or promoted to their next role due to friction in their pay & development. - Leadership: Leadership in the middle management space has an issue, there’s teams with great managers and directors that everyone wants to work on and others that people stay away from like the plague and it shows in the open backfill positions that have stayed open for a noticeably long time.

Pros

The da Vinci is a powerful robotics platform and still unmatched by just about everything else in the market. With the product that great comes the experience and access to work with healthcare professionals and hospital systems at a level that is extremely valuable for a long career Medical Device. Also, the value you provide in the technical experience, the training pathway and the Surgeon learning curve to autonomy and the feeling of growing production is great when all the pieces fall into place.

Cons

If you're in an area that has good runway and they just need hands on deck with a supportive manager it's pretty straightforward career progression. However, there's a lot of territories that have been sold into a corner of sorts and because of the specific targets that absolutely need to be sold the management has gotten extremely picky and will specifically target reps from orgs such as JnJ, Applied and Medtronic to come in and flip the remaining surgeons that they've already been selling to.
