Pros
-Most colleagues are nice, but be careful of some of the "partners" -The office is nice and spacious -If you are hoping to gain experience with adolescent development, it does provide some good opportunities to work with high school students and their families one-on-one, but it can get overwhelming pretty soon -They do sponsor H1B and green card, which might also explain why they are treating you badly, because they know you are locked in by your visa status.
Cons
-Terrible management and leadership, chaotic and messy -Unclear expectations from the bosses, sometimes they can be emotional and throw tantrums -You are required to use your personal WeChat account to add all of your clients, which means you have a job 24/7. -There is no 401K, insurance is terrible, no dental or vision, and the pay is really poor if you consider the hours you worked (your hourly wage might be less than the minimum wage) -There is no overtime pay, but you are expected to work late night and on the weekends. Yes you can technically record the "meeting hours" and transfer them to vacation times, but there are so much paperwork, proposal, plans, and other communications that are not counted for, and nobody has ever used up their vacation times. Some colleagues could have over 30 days of vacation saved and could not find time to take them. You are also expected to reply to messages even on vacation. -No professional development opportunities -You will get "promotion" with no pay increase, only more obligations -A lot of drama, you will hear the bosses talk badly about former employees all the time -Overall, it's a lot of damage to your mental health; though I also agree that it does come with the industry.
