Pros

People buy breakfast from the local caf on a Friday morning

Cons

'It is what it is' - a phrase you will hear over and over to justify not changing or improving. This is really not the place to be if you're invested in your work.

Pros

Friendly atmosphere, non corporate, loads of opportunity to progress. The variety of what you're working on is amazing. Some of these devices have a profound effect on the everyday lives of people so to be involved in that from start to finish gives you that feel good factor.

Cons

None. I guess Mildenhall isn't the most accessible but otherwise, it's a brilliant company to work for. The only reason I moved on was relocation back to where I'm from originally, otherwise I'd still be there.

Pros

• Most people are friendly on a surface level • Not a particularly corporate environment • Relaxed informal dress code • Social activities often organized locally after work (only good if you live locally, but who would want to live in Mildenhall?!) • Finish at 16:00 on a Friday if you get your hours in

Cons

• Backwards workplace culture • Long hours, 45 hours a week minimum • No benefits: Only 20 day’s holiday, no sick pay, no performance related bonuses, pension options & contributions basic • Wellbeing not a priority • Additional holiday earned if no sick days are taken in a year is twisted • Attitude on COVID-19 irresponsible, especially for a medical devices company - you have to fight to work from home • No flexible working - a massive lack of trust towards employees - required to fill in a physical timesheet • No systems in place to encourage personal development • Actively told to not discuss projects with colleagues working on a different project - how are people supposed to learn from each other in an environment like that? • No performance or salary reviews • The only way to progress or get a pay rise is to threaten to quit • Outdated IT, office 2010 isn't even supported by Microsoft. Less than helpful IT support, it takes a long time to get any issues fixed • People who have worked here their whole lives are averse to change and progression - how dare someone younger than them with less experience make a suggestion?! • Complete lack of respect to younger graduates who hold engineering degrees from longer standing employees - great that you went the apprenticeship route, but no need to let your insecurity be a reason to shut grads down whenever they have an idea or try and implement something they learned in their degree
