Pros

Where to start... I've worked at a few other tax firms and most have that toxic corporate culture - JTaylor is NOT like this. They value Family and they value their employees and they make sure to show it. No matter your position, you are treated with the same respect as the CEOs themselves. JTaylor feels like family - they work very hard to have a healthy culture. I cannot speak for the other divisions as much, but the Tax department is unlike anything I've ever seen in this field. Most importantly, they want to see their employees grow. They listen to the little people and are happy to hear/implement new ideas from anyone. They're very transparent on how the company is doing. In the 3 years I've been there, we have had at least 5 employees promoted to Partner in the Tax department and more in other departments. They also give money to employees who are adopting. It is those kinds of things that show who they really are.

Cons

The cons only pertain to my job as an administrative assistant. It is the only position where working from home is not encouraged, which is understandable in my role.

Pros

Overall, JTaylor has an excellent culture. It feels like a family and everyone enjoys celebrating each others successes and life milestones. It is a teamwork environment and everyone comes together to help each other around deadlines. The busy season hours are fair for public accounting. They are transitioning to a project-based hours system, so the hours could vary going forward.

Cons

There are lots of inexperienced new hires that can be difficult to work with. For this reason, about half of the team has to work way harder to compensate for their shortcomings. There is some immaturity on the part of the younger partner leadership. A few of them play favorites and will badmouth staff to other staff. Unfortunately, this was a recurring event that happened more than once. I want to reiterate that this is only apparent with a small sector of senior leadership, most of them are great and very professional.
