Pros

Good healthcare plans, some pleasant co-workers, and a handful of genuine, down-to-earth families in the community.

Cons

You will toil away for a meager paycheck all for the benefit the 0.01% TriBeCa elite who generally regard you with about the same level of respect they reserve for their doormen and chauffeurs, i.e., their "help." These are people who are very accustomed to getting their way and you will be forced to kowtow to their whims and caprices regardless of your professional expertise. These masters of the universe and their spouses pay lip service to notions of community and inclusiveness, but it's just a facade for a run-of-the-mill elite preschool that feeds into the even more elite NYC private grade school system. Your co-workers are equally underpaid and some of them will be bitter, miserable and very bored people who thrive on gossip and melodrama. Staff turnover is very high for such a small professional staff. Limited room for advancement, holiday bonuses in the form of retail gift cards, all the usual stuff you'd expect from an underfunded non-profit org, with the added irony that the community you're serving is enjoying lifestyle excesses that rival Caligula's.
