Pros

Dogs. Dogs are a blessing.

Cons

HR. Nepotism. Illegal firing of employees. Lack of ethics and integrity. Incredibly abusive. No accountability by senior management and stakeholders. Employees crying at work due to mistreatment and poor operational insight. Corporate employees being asked to come into the office on weekends and after hours work. This company has been sued numerous times for mistreatment, discrimination, and illegal activity(public record). HR allows this to happen openly, and no repercussions or accountability are experienced with upper management. You will work outside of your expected work hours. You will be performing tasks outside of your job role and title. You will be accosted. You will be abused. You will be retaliated against for attempting to be ethical and law biding. The company’s mission was to never “sell out” to a parent corporation, as the feed industry according to the founder, and his book, Big Kibble, are atrocities. They are now in partnership with Nestle. Their products quality is diminishing. Their packaging get ‘micro-tears’ and they are aware of this, and that it compromises the food, and have not addressed this, allowing the people who love their dogs to suffer financially, and the dogs suffer from mishandled food. Just Food For Dogs executives, senior managers, and stakeholders have been fired for engaging in illegal and unethical behavior. You won’t find them, because they’ve embellished their resumes/LinkedIn to prevent being linked to their inappropriate actions. This company does not have the customer’s best interest in their playbook, not do they care for their employees in any way - if they’re emotionally triggered, you will be attacked.

Pros

Great team, best manager/HR team, Great Benefits, Great work/balance.

Cons

I haven't experienced any cons yet, but it would be nice to get to know other people from other teams. AP and Customer service are the only teams that choose to work in office, So some company mixers would be helpful in my opinion to put a face on who I'm emailing regarding work.

Pros

The product truly does benefit the dogs. You are doing genuinely good work if you know your stuff. Get to hang with dogs too.

Cons

Mass corporatization made the job much more stressful than it was previously. They stopped supporting the employees in stores financially, professionally, and strategically, and created a number of processes that got in the way of work rather than help achieve success. Lack of institutional memory was something I would constantly have to cover for in educating people above me. Newbies no longer get sufficient training to the point where I as a customer wouldn't trust anyone in my position anymore. Communications systems currently in place are structured to breed contempt and sabotage among employees. They make you re-interview for minimal raises/promotions. HR actively creates problems rather than solving them, and an HR rep even made personal attacks towards me to which I never got an apology. The company mission statement was changed to no longer put the dogs first. The company comes first. They are not subtle about this change.
