Pros

Working for a Christian organization has helped me grow and be bolder in my faith. As the Promotions & Events Team we get to share the love of Jesus in our local area. One of my favorite parts is partnering with all the different organizations and making impactful connections in our community. We engage with our listeners and get to hear their stories of how K-LOVE and/or Air1 have changed their lives, first hand. The fellowship among our team is a blessing as well. We work hard, play hard, and pray even harder, together! Leadership encourages and equips you to grow and develop. The company takes care of their employees like they are family. I also enjoy working with our volunteers and forming relationships with those who are willing to serve alongside us!

Cons

At times, it is challenging to be a remote location for the ministry. The organization has to be very intentional with communication. The home office is in a different time zone as we are so that can be tricky sometimes, too. Expectations are high for our team, and sometimes it can be overwhelming. There has to be a balance between the administrative side of things and the on-site events we do. We have also been hit with a lot of changes recently - people changes and program/software changes. In most cases, change is a positive thing, however it has taken a while to adjust to all the changes and keep pushing forward. I definitely think more training could be beneficial for the remote events team.

Pros

This is my first time working in a ministry, and the culture at K‑LOVE surpasses any workplace I’ve been part of. The kindness, support, and genuine care for team members truly stand out. My leader champions my growth and actively supports my career path. The benefits and pay have also significantly improved my quality of life. And with exciting NextGen and international efforts expanding our mission to reach more people with the message of Jesus, it’s an incredible time to be here.

Cons

Like any organization, there are leadership decisions I don’t always agree with (such as discontinuing hybrid work), but even on those days, the culture and support here still outshine every workplace I’ve been in.

Pros

Great location and facility. Middle management and individual contributors are strong, and the teams are tight-knit and supportive of one another.

Cons

Leadership is becoming increasingly out of touch with both their people and the work they do. A once successful and highly valued hybrid work environment was abruptly and unilaterally eliminated based on the CEO’s personal belief, which he openly communicated after stepping into the role permanently. There has also been a push to compare work here to professional athletics. While that may reflect the CEO’s background, it highlights a clear disconnect from the realities of how the employees actually work and contribute in this environment. Most concerning is the tone and messaging surrounding these recent decisions. There is a growing pattern of spiritually manipulative language presented as “Biblical standards and accountability.” It has created pressure to conform rather than space for honest spiritual dialogue or dialogue in general. The result is a noticeable misalignment between leadership’s personal ideology, the stated mission of the organization, and the people doing the work to carry that mission forward every day. I pray there is meaningful course correction here over time. However, as it stands, I cannot in good conscience recommend working for or applying to this organization if you expect it to operate differently from a traditional corporate environment.

Our leadership team, including the CEO, is deeply committed to stewarding the Ministry well and supporting the Team Members who make this work possible. Decisions like our return to the office are made with prayerful and careful consideration for the long-term health and unity of our Team Members as we continue serving listeners together.
