Pros

Loved the type of the work the company does.

Cons

No good on-onboarding when starting with the company. The provision models are complex and there is no training when you start. It takes longer to get work done due to complexity of the model which leads to unhappy partners. Some partners are polite and nice to work with while others are outright rude and need to work on basic courtesy.

KBF Advisory Response

We’re happy to hear that you loved the type of work that we do. Our firm is a little unique in that respect. Thank you for the comments about your onboarding and training experience. As a high-growth, start-up “like” firm, we rely on this feedback to reflect on our efforts and make investments in our talent with process improvements. To address this matter, we have deployed SharePoint|sapiens Employee Training Management and we have assigned our best technical staff to execute on the training initiative. We are sorry to hear that you were treated poorly. KBF was founded on the basis of creating a CPA firm where highly technical accounting experts can do their best work in a collaborative, thoughtful, and kind way. If you are open to sharing the specifics of your experience, please reach to our HR leader in confidence at HR@kbfcpa.com. We appreciate that KBF was part of your career journey and wish your experience was more positive.

Pros

The firm provides good exposure to a variety of clients and industries, which helps build technical skills and practical experience. Expectations are clear, and there are opportunities to take on responsibility and grow if you show initiative. Workloads can be busy during peak periods, but that’s typical for public accounting, and management is usually understanding when schedules get demanding.

Cons

Like many firms in public accounting, workloads can become heavy during peak seasons, and busy periods may require longer hours to meet deadlines. Some processes and systems could be more streamlined, which occasionally creates inefficiencies. Communication between departments can sometimes be inconsistent, leading to delays or the need for follow-up. Advancement paths exist, but timelines may feel slower depending on department needs and timing. While the overall environment is positive, there can be variability in management styles across teams, which can affect day-to-day experience.
