Pros
There are pockets of great people at KPIX that are willing to mentor, train, and actually support you to make you better at your job. Unfortunately, these people are few and far between and are not high enough on the company ladder to help you for any longterm trajectory or growth. You will also be thrown into the fray quick and deep, so you learn fast and gain a lot of experience in a short period of time.
Cons
Leadership is extremely lacking, having three executive producers and a news director on duty all at the same time didn't increase productivity or quality was not increased, especially considering one of these EPs was usually at the gym or online shopping. Show producers and EPs would throw colleagues under the bus for their own mistakes, not take the time to train people, and blatantly showed favoritism (which only bred more backstabbing and mistrust). If you actively want to learn and make it apparent you really want to succeed, you'll likely get little enthusiasm in return. Instead, you remain stagnant in your position and continue to be chastised for making mistakes on things that you were never trained to do. In short, if you were not in the upper echelon of the newsroom, you'll likely feel unhappy, unless you're open to sucking up to EPs and newsroom managers.
