Not the best pay but since the schedule is two weeks on two week off, you are really getting paid for six months of work. The guarantee is for 51 hours. But since most pilots fly 30 hours or less a month the hourly rate is very high. The medical Benifits are very good. Hotels on the road are at pilot choice, with no argument. Over the past 37 years I have flown for the Kalitta’s for 30 of those years. I have had no accidents, incidents or violations. The management since the mid 1990s has been safety oriented, and the accident safety record reflects the achievement. We satisfy the requirements for DOD, AMS, NASA, and more. Management is open to listening to views of employees, and safety first. We have a FRATS program.
Cons
Old or older equipment. No two airplane are the same so the requirement for flexibility and attention to detail is demanding. We operate to almost every airport in north and Central America, so the flight environment is challenging. Short response time on demand charters, result in flight under challenging flight environment, in relation to rest and weather. When you are on days of work, you live with your phone, and your suitcase.
