Pros

Nice view....aside from feelings of constantly wanting to jump out the window

Cons

This is the worst company I've ever worked for. It was like a nightmare that never ended. Key feelings you should expect to have if you make (the worst) mistake (of your life) and take a job here include: Degraded, undervalued, over-worked, humiliated, micro-managed, suffocated by the ever-present fear of being inexplicably sacked. Let's break it down: - Management - what management? Imagine if a group of old boys got together over a whiskey and decided "let's make a company and throw money at some random ideas I had last night"...the result would be Key Media. The "leadership team" consists of a group of sales-driven "businessmen" with no editorial experience but that have a desire to grow the business as fast as they can, without actually investing anything into it. Which brings us to the next point... - Overworked staff: Funnily enough, when you go for a job interview with Key Media, the job description that you get is not actually what you'll be doing. Quite quickly, you'll find yourself turning out enough work for two people's full-time roles, covering (someone who has magically disappeared) "temporarily" for an extended period of time....that time being, forever. Just don't expect to get paid any extra. - The old boys whiskey club extends to freelancers as well. Do not surprised if your editor is drafted in from some far off land, and has no experience in said role, but suddenly becomes the editorial oracle, prone to annoying the readers and making mistakes, which you will inevitably have to clean up. And by the way, don't expect anyone higher up to give a rats either. - HR...I can't even think of any funny way to put it, Key Media has the most atrocious "HR department" I've ever come across, which is ironic because one of its best sellers is HRD. If you have a human resources issue, expect for your complaint to be, A.) ignored point blank, or B.) used as a mechanism to pressure you to leave. - Staff turnover: In the less than a year that I was an employee, we had a turnover of more than double the staff that existed in the office when I started. Not even in a call centre job as a uni student have I come across this before. - Everything negative you're reading from other reviews is 100% accurate - the words have been taken out of my mouth. Positive reviews are oh-so thinly veiled.

Pros

I joined Key Media in June of 2021 and I've had an amazing working experience so far! As someone with a marketing background I was looking for more creative freedom, and that is exactly what I got! Management is very empowering and helps you reach your goals, but gives you the flexibility and creative freedom to work on projects without being micro-managed. Plenty of opportunities for growth within the company as well. HR was very helpful with on-boarding and connecting me with staff I would be working with on a regular basis. Overall I am extremely happy with Key Media and look forward to growing my career here!

Cons

I do not have any negative feedback to share at this time.
