Pros
Pay and benefits are outstanding, especially for a small and non-profit. The commitment to the mission (personalized education for all kids) is real and practically everyone within the organization shows it. I've personally had a great deal of support for professional development in the almost two years I've been here, both related to my job and opportunities that are personally interesting but not related to my role. This includes both time off and economic support. Over the past year there has been focused and concerted effort to streamline the management structure and team and this is moving the company in a direction where strategy is more cohesive and apparent -- something which is important. The company is currently narrowing it's focus to personalized learning/competency based education/early college and we are all working to create goals and plans to support that. There are some absolutely great people there that I enjoy working with and look forward to seeing daily!
Cons
Small size increases level of drama sometimes. New more focused goals are creating pressure on some people who prefer the old ways of doing things and there's some tension around that. Change is always hard and we're struggling.
