Pros

Working with customers and creating custom designs.

Underpaid, boss talks down and yells at employees, no benifits or paid time off. Owner justifies not paying for even Christmas day off.

Pros

Besides being a fully solar-powered business, and regularly working alongside visiting dog "employees", LAX Print offers a unique workspace opportunity to experience graphic design and printing services at the local level. LAX Print is proud to be one of the fastest print shops in La Crosse, and employees are able to learn about the printing process from start to finish. LAX Print offers more than just printing and copying services, allowing you to learn to make products like signs, decals, banners, and so much more. The staff I worked alongside with were always dedicated to getting the job done, while also making time for fun (and petting the dogs, of course). All work hours are during the weekdays, meaning your weekends are free. You also build relationships with nearby businesses like Balanced Bodywork Massage Therapy and Press Break. Overall, LAX Print offers a unique opportunity to see how printing services cater to the needs of the La Crosse community.

Cons

This workspace is not for those used to light workloads. Because a significant amount of orders need to be done quickly and impeccably, you will typically be working non-stop to ensure everything is completed before their deadlines. Also, due to the small number of staff, you will be required to know how to do multiple tasks and operate several different machines. When I worked there, there were no health-related benefits included with the job. You will probably be subject to prolonged exposure to Yacht Rock playlists; you have been warned. If you are someone who can manage these types of stress well, however, you will find this line of work to be quite rewarding.

Pros

Production work is fun, and a nice variety of client work.

Cons

The owner is a tyrant. He expects too much for the paltry pay he offers, and he bullies his employees in front of customers. He lied right to my face about my performance on a daily basis, and he mocked me for not understanding the "quirks" (brokenness) of his outdated equipment. He made several false accusations because he wanted to get rid of me. Basically, his performance as a leader and trainer was severely lacking, and I was his scapegoat because I wasn't understanding what my duties were. I was a very good employee, but he only had bullying and unfair criticism as guidance. What he promised during the interview and what he offered were drastically different. This is easily the worst job I ever had.
