Pros

Some friendly coworkers PTO/401(k)/Insurance offered Laxed dress code Central location, close to public transportation and tollways

Cons

Non-competitive wages At the time I quit, all employees had their hours cut due to lack of business (announced shortly before the holidays) As a result of the furlough, 40 hours of work is expected per week, but employees are only paid for 24 hours per week Partners insist on hiring new site acquisition people as contractors for the first 3 months, despite the fact that you will be asked to show up to the same place and perform the same tasks M-F, 9-5 Lack of any formal training for new hires Cross country travel expected with very little advanced notice Door to door fliers on ring drives, some residents are less than friendly/receptive Lots of standing around outside in the cold listening to other people decide where the cell tower should go A lot of cold calling A lot of 2+ hour weekly conference calls where the same information is repeated week after week Some managers (not all, there’s some who work very hard) barely do any work and hand off entire projects to their underlings In my interview, I was told that we could work from home as long as I didn’t abuse it and our work got done; however, that is not the case unless you have an excuse the partners consider to be good enough One partner has a bad temper One partner seems oblivious to day to day business operations One partner shows up to the office maybe one day per month, if that The Pittsburgh office is highly disorganized, unprofessional, and not self sufficient; as a result, they may dump their work on you
