Pros

Customer-centric agency, owners that truly care about the well being of their employees, consistent revenue growth, structure allows employee to go above and beyond for their clients without a restricted service model, compensation and benefits are on par with other agencies if not slightly better, ownership that quietly gives back to the community

Cons

Be prepared to put in extra hours during cyclical renewal times, over the last few years there have been some growing pains, but that is beginning to improve

Pros

Having recently moved to LSG from a larger broker, there are certainly some benefits to working for a Privately-owned agency with an entrepreneurial mindset. Leadership has an "open door" policy, and are open to new ideas to increase efficiency and improve resources available to the team and clients. Constant flow of new business, both "new" and organic growth through Private Equity Client acquisitions, and upselling new coverages such as Cyber to existing clients. There is a strong core team with experienced talent base. 100's of years of insurance experience and knowledge across the Owners, Producers, Account Executives, and Account Managers. Lot's of opportunity to learn and enhance your own knowledge base. Competitive compensation, plus high quality Health & Benefit Options, as well as a better-than-market-average bonus program which reflects both overall company and individual performance and dedication. Fairly new building, and latest technology. There's additional "perks" such as all-office lunches, and event tickets for staff at company-owned seats and suites. 35 Hour work week (8 hour days including full hour lunch break) is hard to come by. Strong support for higher education to allow team members to develop their skills and progress in their careers.

Cons

Lacks depth of resources available at larger National firms. Have to work harder to find data and information from third-party sources. However, availability of Loss Control and Claims Management staff is something that is rare to find at independent agencies.
