Pros

My colleagues were talented, thoughtful, and pleasant to be around. The office is beautiful (and healthy!). There are fun activities and a generally comfortable work environment.

Cons

The management has a lot of work to do. They do not value anyone who is different from them. In order to succeed, you have to fit into their rigid, ego-driven expectations. There is no open communication, misleading feedback, and clear bias. The company claims to be triple bottom line, valuing people, planet, and profit equally. In reality, it feels more like profit, profit, profit.

Pros

There aren’t a lot of pros unless you’re a white man with minimal ethics and below baseline empathy. Although healthcare benefits are good, they’ll quickly have you maxing out your deductible with medical concerns relating to emotion and mental distress.

Cons

With an all white, male management team, no one will be surprised by the lack of interpersonal skills, dishonesty, and blatant disregard for female designers. The level of egotistical nonsense is giving me hives as we speak. LUMA management openly refuses to attend formal management trainings due to “cost”, lies directly to employees faces, and tells women to “smile” more.

Pros

Talented coworkers and some decent project work.

Cons

Bad management that over works and burns out their employees. Does not recognize the hard work and talent that they have. Management does not do a good job of supporting their staff. Used to be a great/fun place to work with a great team and good management, but over the years it's gone downhill and only gotten worse with the new people in charge. Focus is no longer to design great lighting for everyone regardless of the project. It's now purely focused on profits (for upper management bonuses).
