Pros
First, I moved to Ledn from another tech company in the city and it's really refreshing to work somewhere with a distinct focus. This company knows exactly where they want to go! I've found it really easy to get aligned with the broader team and the executive team - this goes such a long way as an engineer because it lets you start thinking further into the future and to get on the same page with your team mates. Second, the collateralized Bitcoin space is such a massive market opportunity and I'm excited for where Ledn is going - this company is also very highly respected in the Bitcoin and community which is a difficult crowd to win over and a testament to their internal practices, culture, product vision, and customer service. (I also use the platform myself and love it) Third, the engineering team at Ledn has a very strong "objective and milestone" based work culture. We're measured on our delivery, not how many hours we sit at a desk. What does this mean for you? It means you're treated like an adult, it means greater flexibility for your work/life balance, and it means the company is going to be able to attract and retain amazing team mates for you in the future. Fourth - security practices. A company's reputation around security is one of the most precious intangible assets a company in the digital asset space can have. I've been in engineering for 15 years and I've never seen a better security culture in my life. It's taken very seriously and it's embedded into every aspect of the business and culture. This is exactly what you want to see if you're working at a scaling company in this space, because it's difficult to implement later at a larger scale.
Cons
First, this is a startup environment, and the necessity here is that you're able to be flexible, adaptable, and work collaboratively with your teams to not only build technology but all the processes you'd see in a larger and more mature business. If you value the procedural comforts of a large and established business this may not be the company for you! (This will be a pro or a con depending on what kind of person you are!).
