Pros

Pros There are only two pros to working here. 1. Co-workers are warm, intelligent and friendly. 2. Depending on the position you are in, you can get away with a lot (such as spending an hour outside without anyone noticing you're gone).

Cons

Have not had enough emotional abuse in your life? Come on down to University Language Services or Accredited Language Services or Legal Language Services or whatever they're called. The disaster show starts at the very top with the CEO. Despite his Ivy League education, he is a socially awkward man with zero interpersonal skills and a bi-polar personality. One day he's happy, one day he's looking for any excuse to fire people. His tactics include tip toeing so you do not hear him coming, standing behind you and looking at your computer and asking asinine questions that he pays managers and supervisors to answer, but who are equally inept and useless due to the low pay and lack of motivation. He is also supposed to be very educated, yet farts and burps his way down the hallways without so much as an excuse me. He insults people and humiliates them in public and has done this to managers and supervisors in front of their subordinates. He has no concept of what compassion, professionalism and dignity are. He also stands between cubicles out of sight and eavesdrops on conversations. He also stands outside of the lunch room to listen in. Then there are the funny "jokes" that he makes that are incredibly awkward and NOT funny. His "jokes" are completely inappropriate given that he does not have that type of relationship with any of his employees. His business sense is also not all there. He wants to pay you less to do more and I pity the fool who lists all of their skills because they WILL be exploited and they WILL NOT be paid. He also seeks to be globally competitive, but his computers are from the year 2000 and so is all of his software. He apparently did not learn about investment or that time is money at Columbia. On top of it all, you also have to deal with uneducated managers who can't even spell or write a professional email. Managers who sit around all day and do not train employees, but when something goes wrong they're always ready to point the finger at the lower employees. It is incredibly frustrating to work for people who are less professional, communicative and intelligent than you and who are asking you for solutions instead of providing them. If you are looking to be the smartest person in a company with no real power then welcome aboard. The bottom line is that the pay is very low, the work load is high and on top of no benefits and lack of opportunities to move up (and get a raise) you are treated like disposable human garbage by upper management. If you are desperate, by all means come laugh at the ridiculousness of it all, but if you cannot afford the trauma and the anxiety of people constantly tracking you and playing the blame game then I suggest you look elsewhere and save yourself the psychiatrist fees. P.S. Their turnover rate is like 5000% percent. The least amount of time someone has stayed on their first day is 2 HOURS. This tells you how UNBEARABLE this place is. I beg you to do yourself a favor and go work at McDonald's. I hear they're paying $15 an hour and that's more than these cheapos pay.

Pros

Good pay rate. They pay for mileage as well. Very flexible. You have 48 hour to submit your completed invoice. They are based in New York but they are very responsive with calls and e-mails.

Cons

At times it may take a while before the next assignment. Don't expect it to be full time.

Pros

Being next to Fulton Station.

Cons

I want to state this review is not just because I am a former disgruntled employee with a bad situation. I had worked here straight out of college. I was a straight-A student, and a top employee at the job I had throughout high school. I am also great at the work I do currently, and have a managerial position. That being said, working at LLS made me believe that I was nothing but trash; the most worthless, ungrateful, idiot that ever stepped through their doorway. They are experts at pressing you into an anxious, depressed and fearful employee that will shake at a leaf at their every command. You will be bullied, humiliated, overworked, harassed, overburdened, and underpaid. Raises are rare and are coin amounts, They do NOT care about you, they do NOT see your worth in any way, and will drain you until you take care of yourself and leave. Management does the bear minimum and refuses to help with very difficult assignments. They love to point out small mistakes and gloss over their own. They make you do the dirty work and spread bad news and take no responsibility whatsoever for anything. There is no room for growth, and I honestly think they don't want you to feel comfortable enough to try to move up. There are cliques, there are unspoken rules, and there is immature drama that poisons the entire office. Moreover, the CEO cares only for his family and his pocket, and you are not either. He will get behind you and watch you work and belittle you, to the manger's delight, who will jump in. HR is a joke and will not defend or assist you. They will instead tell you that you aren't there to make friends, or to simply try harder when legitimate issues are brought up to them. They either have no power, or are paid enough to not care. Expect to work overtime for no extra pay, expect to be told to come in at various hours to cover for no extra pay, expect to take on extra work for no extra pay-- all of this for pennies and years of therapy after the fact.
