Tech is last thing anybody cares about. Management would spend a year designing a button so it's just perfect, but wouldn't spend an hour on a technical discussion. Just write the code already. Make it work, somehow. You're a code monkey. What they call "different" is just another way to say "awful". In less than a year the company managed to hire over 5 very senior and experienced managers and engineers, they all left. The ones who replaced them are clueless. If that doesn't tell you something about the place, what will?
