Pros

Some of the people are great - but a lot of the people who were great to work with have left. Have the opportunity to be at the cusp of a growing industry.

Cons

The CEO needs to go. He is the root of all issues. He is a child, and this is his first job. It's no wonder the company is run like a circus. As a high level, there is proof of the CEO: - Lying to employees - Bullying employees - Sexist behaviour - Almost bankrupting the company - Placing his personal needs above company needs - Forcing people to work after hours or during holidays due to his lack of planning and needing things urgently - Injecting himself into projects unnecessarily, causing longer turnarounds for tasks - Wasting employees' time rushing and working after-hours for tasks just to change his mind - Spending company money trying to fire people who oppose him - Firing people who are vocal about how bad he is (others have just left) - When approached with real feedback, says he will be better, and then not change at all - Engaging vendors and refusing to pay them - Uses the fact that he "used to be a lawyer" as a way to promote himself, meanwhile he was never an actual lawyer - Not doing the proper strategic research to make decisions - In general being very immature when faced with conflict and overcompensating for his lack of work experience by power tripping for using his "legal expertise" as a way to confuse and shut down people I believe the CEO is a psychopath and is not fit to be in this position. It ruins all of our work and morale just having him walk in the room. He brings negative value to the company and boasts his ability to bring in investments should be impressive - however that is his only reason and anyone with business sense can do this task. The CEO's behaviour is notorious in the industry and there have and seems to be multiple legal ramifications for his actions.

Pros

No doubt it is easy to read the negative reviews on Glassdoor and come away with the feeling of "Who the hell wants to work here!" and the reality is that it takes a certain type of personality who can adapt and thrive in the chaos of a start up in a new industry. Personally, I feel that I am left to my own devices when it comes to how I want to accomplish an objective set out by management which is the way I like it. This is not an environment where you are going to be spoon fed the answers as many times there are no clear cut answers so it is up to you to use your best judgement to come up with one and then be able to defend your decision. If you aren't comfortable with this environment, then maybe Lift isn't the place for you and that is 100% fine. As a mid level manager, it is easy to sit back and second guess the exec team on their decision making, but given the opportunity to walk a mile in their shoes, I am not sure I would be doing things any differently. The company has recently added two more seasoned professional in marketing and HR, so this should help give employees some better perspective as to how companies actually operate and moderate expectations.

Cons

The company could benefit from some better prioritization of objectives, but this should come with time as the industry normalizes and matures

Pros

A great young company in an emerging space. If you are looking to get a foot hold in a company that mirrors the growth opportunities offered by the alcohol industry after prohibition, there is no better place to make your name. There is a certain energy of being involved in the birth of the industry. And while its easy to complain about what you are entitled to as an employee, this is a great place to serve as stepping stone to other Cannabis industry opportunities should you decide not to stay. Senior management is very focused on hitting a number of specific targets and have made that very clear to all involved in the endeavor.

Cons

Attempting to do too much with too few resources. As the company grows, some people may be put off by the fact that we are transforming to a company with internal processes, but that is required for sort of long term survival
